Wire transfer funding: what is a Fedwire IMAD/OMAD number?
Abbreviated as IMAD/OMAD, the Input/Output Message Accountability Data (wire transfers) is a unique number assigned to each FedWire payment (processed through the Federal Reserve Bank Service). An IMAD/OMAD number can be used to investigate and track wire transfers.
To put it simply, this number is generated to track your wire transfer.
Your IMAD/OMAD information consists of this information in the following format:
IMAD/OMAD number: YYYYMMDD ABCDXXXX 012345
Wire transfer date: YYYYMMDD or MMDD
Source identifier: 8 Alpha or Alpha-Numeric characters
Sequence number: 6 digits
Where can I find my IMAD/OMAD number?
An IMAD/OMAD number is generated automatically once your wire has been sent. In the event that the bank representative is unable to give you this number, please contact your bank’s manager or your bank’s wire department for assistance.
